This weekend was so much fun – Jason and I hosted a backyard BBQ with our friends on Saturday, sort of a farewell NYC party. We had so much fun with our friends and couldn’t have had better weather for an outdoor party.
The bbq menu consisted of beef sliders topped with a choice of cheddar or blue cheese, caramelized red onions and sauteed shitake and portabello mushrooms. I made two salads, one being a watermelon and tomato salad with scallions, basil, ricotta salata and a red wine vinaigrette. The second salad was made with cherries, cucumber, cilantro and a white wine vinaigrette. Both salads were so refreshing and flavorful. I made one of my favorite summer side dishes, deviled eggs; roasted potatoes with rosemary and hummus with Pretzel Crisps. We had beer, wine and mojitos to wash it all down!
