Hope & Anchor, Brooklyn, NY

My friend and I had lunch/brunch here after a shopping spree at Fairway. Yes, I know, we just bought a ton of food, so why did we go out to eat. Well, we were hungry (starving actually) and needed immediate satiation. We stopped here for a quick bite to eat. The place was cool and had a fun vibe; the bartender was quite the crooner (but a good one) and popular with guests. I had a fish sandwich. The onion roll was pillowy and held fish that was perfectly crispy on the outside and moist in the middle. My friend had a big (and I mean BIG) bowl of oatmeal. This was the good kind of oatmeal that looks like it was made in a big vat of milk and sugar and oats! She also had a side of b-fast home fries. Coffee was good and they kept our mugs full the whole time. I’d highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the Red Hook part of Brooklyn.
